Intent of the process

A pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures and linguistic profiles within Employment and Social Development Canada in the Western Canada and Territories region.

Candidates from outside the public service may be required to pay for their own travel for various assessment phases.

Please note that within the context of this selection process, travel costs or travel expenses will not be reimbursed for the staffing of an acting, assignment or secondment.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of two (2) years post-secondary education from a recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CEGEP, university).

• Willing and able to travel to and work at the service area’s alternate locations and to alternate points of service, based on operational requirements

• Willing and able to travel for extended periods for the purpose of training

• Willing and able to work scheduled shifts and weekends, as required

PASSPORT OFFICER:
- Willing and able to work variable hours, including working weekends and/or shift work and/or overtime, and/or part-time or full time hours based on operational requirements
- Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete a 3-week full-time (37.5 hours per week) training course (travel may be required) and a structured 10-week apprenticeship program in order to qualify for continued employment.
