We are currently looking for scientific and compliance specialists to join our team. If you have been working in the medical device or related industry and have considerable experience in regulatory affairs, the quality assurance and/or quality control of Medical Devices, join our team now as Regional Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement Officer, in the functional position of Inspector.

The immediate need is to staff 4 permanent positions. A pool of qualified candidates will be established to fill similar positions with various tenures (temporary, permanent) across Canada, within the Medical Devices Compliance Program. The pool could also be used for acting appointments should the candidate already be a public servant.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in microbiology, chemistry, mechanical engineering, pharmacy, food science, or some other specialty related to the position.
Degree equivalency
Experience:
Recent and significant work experience* in one or more of the following areas within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry:
• production
• regulatory affairs
• quality assurance
• quality control
• auditing
OR
Recent and significant experience* in the execution of compliance and enforcement activities under federal legislation (e.g.: Food and Drugs Act) within an Agency or Department of the Government of Canada
* Recent and significant experience is generally defined as two (2) years within the last five (5) years.

Education:
Graduate studies diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, in the area of regulatory affairs for health products
Experience:
Experience in the development of digital health technologies (such as software, mobile applications, wearable technologies, etc.)
Experience related to the manufacturing of medical device products in compliance with established standards/regulations.
Experience in the application of the ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 standards for medical devices.
Reliability Status security clearance
Possession a valid driver’s licence
Willingness to travel within and outside Canada
Willingness to work overtime evenings and weekends occasionally
