The incumbent will be required to travel on a regular basis to various Arctic locations (such as the Polar Continental Shelf Program (PCSP)’s facility in Resolute, Nunavut) for several cycles of approximately 6 weeks each during the field season.

This process will be used to staff a seasonal full-time position in Resolute from February to September. The language requirement is English Essential and a Reliability Status security clearance is also required. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada at the GS-FOS-02 group and level with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability Status, Secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

A covering letter in 2,500 words (maximum) "Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the education and experience factors listed in the essential qualifications. Candidates must use the experience factors as a header and describe how they meet each experience required. • A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Experience in assisting in the preparation of meals, including main courses, salads and freshly baked goods for groups of 30 to 180 people per meal.
• Experience in maintaining and sanitizing of kitchen, dining room, refrigeration and food storage areas.
• Recent experience (within the last 2 years) working in a commercial, industrial or institutional setting.
• Post-secondary training in cooking/culinary arts.
• Experience working in the North.
• Experience working in an isolated location.

Organizational Needs :

Operational Requirements:
