Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two permanent full time positions.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a term, indeterminate, or acting basis, at full or part time hours) located throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley in British Columbia.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Interprovincial Journeyman’s certificate in motor vehicle repair.

EXPERIENCE:
1. *Recent and **significant experience in diagnostic techniques and repair procedures for mechanical, electrical and electronic control systems of vehicles.
2. Experience in the use of good safety practices including WHMIS.
3. Experience in reading and understanding wiring schematics.

*”Recent experience” refers to the performance of the duties within approximately the past 4 years.
**”Significant experience” refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties on a continuous basis over a period of approximately 2 years.
