Immediate need: 1 position to be staffed on a determinate basis with an English Essential linguistic profile.
This process will be used to create a pool of fully and partially qualified candidates to draw from in the event of future vacancies within Global Affairs Canada with various linguistic profiles (i.e. English essential, French essential, Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC), which may vary according to the position being staffed. Tenures may vary according to the position (Indeterminate, Specified Period, Acting appointment, Assignment, Secondment). We therefore encourage all interested candidates to apply.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a field related to the requirements of the position (e.g. commerce, marketing, business administration, economics, and international trade or development) or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
*Degree is a baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities.
EXPERIENCE:
Significant** experience in business development activities.
Experience in analyzing information.
Experience in providing service to clients.
Experience in developing action plans and proposals.
Experience in planning and organizing business development projects and initiatives.
Experience in developing and delivering presentations to clients or partners.
Experience in developing and effectively managing networks of clients, partners or stakeholders.
**Significant experience is understood to mean the breadth, depth and diversity of experience normally acquired through performing a broad range of complex tasks that is typically acquired through filling one or more officer level positions for at least three (3) years.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Certified International Trade Professional designation (FITT)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in international business development and trade promotion.
Experience in analyzing trade or economic issues, or developing trade/business policies.
Experience working abroad for a minimum of 1 year.

- Candidates who are invited to an interview who do not currently maintain a valid secret security clearance must email these two completed forms to within 72 hours following their interview.

- Candidates who fail to confirm their attendance at our written exam and/or interview will be considered withdrawn from the process.
- If a candidate is no longer interested in this position and has chosen to voluntarily withdraw, they must notify as soon as possible.

- Candidates are advised that an exam and/or interview will only be rescheduled under these exceptional circumstances:
o Medical reason with certificate;
o Pre-arranged travel with proof;

o Death in the family;
o Other exceptional reason deemed acceptable by the Selection Board (e.g. Jury Duty, etc.).
