Intent of the process

Immediate need to staff an indeterminate English essential position in North Vancouver.
Anticipatory : for positions in Moncton (NB) and Dartmouth(NS).

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar EN-ENG-03 positions with different tenures (specified period, indeterminate), various linguistics profiles and various security clearance requirements within Environment and Climate Change Canada across Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering or environmental engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
•Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position (some positions may require eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada without regard for the field of specialization). .

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working in collaboration with governments, industry or non-governmental organizations, on environmental issues.
• Experience assessing and modeling the dispersion of effluents to water.
• Experience working with municipal sanitary wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Experience in the analysis of technologies and processes used to reduce or control the releases of pollutants in the environment.
• Experience in gathering and analyzing technical data and making recommendations in various formats, including presentations and reports.

Graduation with a post graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with Specialization in a field relevant to the position.

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in preparation and review of project documents such as technical reports, terms of reference, and statements of work.
• Experience modelling wastewater treatment plant discharges.
• Experience using MIKE modelling software.
• Experience with water quality monitoring programs.
•Experience working with, or supporting, the Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
• Willing and able to travel within Canada and worldwide (by car, train and plane).
