Intent of the process

This process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to staff future temporary, indeterminate, full-time or part-time positions with various language requirements within the Atlantic Region Departmental Security Section and/or other sections of the RCMP.

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience providing administrative services in a legal or police services environment

Experience responding to inquiries for information relevant to the functions of the work unit or organization

Experience in using at least two of the following databases:

PROS
Versadex
NARMS
Peoplesoft (HRMIS)
ACIIS
JEIN
CPIC

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

Language requirement: Bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB) OR English Essential.

Knowledge of the organization of the RCMP

ABILITIES:

Ability to perceive differences and similarities in information

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, an RCMP Reliability Status. In some cases/positions, a Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance may also be required.

NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc . As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

To be granted RCMP security clearance and to maintain the ethical standards of the RCMP, candidates must not be, or have been, involved in certain criminal activities, have been dishonourably discharged, have pending personal bankruptcies, etc. For additional information and a complete list of activities, please visit http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/qualifications-and-requirements and read the section titled “To apply as a police officer, you must not have”, as well as the applicable considerations.
