9. The successful candidate will have to obtain an RCMP Enhanced reliability security clearance. The process requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

Currently we have one indeterminate vacancy at the GL-MAN-07 group and level. A qualified pool of candidates may be established to staff this and other similar positions, at the GL-MAN-07 group and level for term, indeterminate or acting at full or part-time hours.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

**Recent and **significant experience with the installation of automotive electronic accessories such as mobile communication equipment, stereos, electronic vehicle security equipment, or computer controlled equipment, etc.

*”Recent experience” refers to the performance of the duties within the last four (4) years.
**”Significant experience” refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the full-time performance of duties for a period of two (2) years.

Experience in the use of good safety practices including WHMIS.

Experience in reading and understanding wiring schematics.

Knowledge of diagnostic techniques and repair procedures for electrical and electronic control systems of vehicles.
Knowledge of good safety practices.

Ability to read and understand wiring schematics.
Ability to organize work to meet deadlines or emergencies.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Successful completion of post-secondary school education in Automotive Technology.

Red Seal Automotive Service Technician.

Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) – Advanced Certification.

Degree equivalency

Experience in installing automotive emergency lighting systems.

Experience welding and metal fabricating techniques.

Experience using a computer for emails, garage management programs or vehicle repair manuals.

Be willing and able to travel by auto, commercial or small aircraft.
Be willing and able to work overtime.
Possession of a valid Canadian Driver’s License equivalent to a Newfoundland Class 5 Driver’s License.

Conditions of employment

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status.
Lift and carry heavy material (up to 35 kg).
Possession of a valid Canadian Driver’s License equivalent to a Newfoundland Class 5 Driver’s License.
