The intent of this process is to establish a partially qualified pool that could be used to staff this position and similar positions in Health Canada with Bilingual Imperative CCC/CCC linguistic profile and various security profiles (Secret or Reliability).
Positions are located in Ottawa, Ontario; however, teleworking arrangements from Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec will be considered for (1) one position.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Communications, French Literature or Translation (English to French). Consideration will be given to applicants with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in other disciplines combined with extended and relevant experience (See experience factors).
It is the candidate’s responsibility to obtain the appropriate documentation from the recognized education institution. Candidates will be required to provide proof of education credentials (i.e. original version of diploma or transcript(s)) if or when invited to the interview stage.
Foreign educational credentials must be assessed by a recognized credential assessment service. If the candidate has been educated outside of Canada, it is the candidate’s responsibility to have his or her certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian educational standards. EXPERIENCE:
Experience* in conducting comparative reviews of translated documents (English to French)
Experience* carrying out grammatical and terminological research using terminology banks and other language reference tools
Experience* in adapting short documents from English to French in a fast paced work environment
*Experience is defined as a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the past 5 years
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
Experience* in supporting the development of communication products, for example fact sheets, news releases, Web communication or media advisories

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the French language: vocabulary, grammar, spelling and composition.
ABILITIES:
Ability to correct text formatting and syntax in order to resolve translation problems.
