The results of this process will initially be used to staff one (1) position indeterminately. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions on an indeterminate or acting basis within Transport Canada in the National Capital Region.

Education:
ED1: A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1: Significant* experience as a Meteorological Technologist in Canada or as a DND (National Defence) meteorological technician.

*For this requirement, significant experience means that the candidate must demonstrate career progression in terms of amount, complexity and diversity of work experience.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Education:
AED1: Post secondary certificate related to a program in aviation.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
AEX1: Experience in conducting inspections and audits to assess the safety of standards and regulations.

AEX2: Experience in conducting risk assessments and trend analysis.

AEX3: Experience in Safety Management Systems and/or Quality Management Systems.

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), specifically Part VIII related to air navigation services.
K2: Knowledge of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), standards and recommended practices related to Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation.
K3: Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) principles and regulations.
