WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: OVERSEEING CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS BY...
- Supporting the identification of the design standards applicable to new and changed
aeronautical products, and the approval of the applicant means of compliance to these
standards
- Working with industry engineers, and Transport Canada Delegates, throughout the
phases of certification
- Preparing for and attending certification and technical reviews, witnessing certification
tests, in Canada and abroad
- Coordinating with all areas of expertise involved in the certification of aeronautical
products
- Interacting with foreign certification authorities
- Validating foreign aeronautical products

You will be required to demonstrate how you meet the education and each of the experience criteria listed in the essential qualifications and any of the applicable asset qualifications on the Statement of Merit Criteria for the initial screening by answering the online screening questions. Intent of the process

The results of this process will initially be used to staff one (1) position indeterminately. The position being staffed is bilingual non-imperative BBB/BBB. Thus, we encourage unilingual candidates to apply.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, determinate or acting basis, within Transport Canada in the National Capital Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

OR

Occupational Certification:

Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.

Note 1: Candidates will be asked to provide proof of education or eligibility for certification.

Note 2: Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for further information at

Degree equivalency

Experience:

EX1: Significant* experience in Stress Analysis in the aerospace industry with progressive responsibility levels as an aerospace stress analyst or senior structural subject matter specialist.

EX2: Experience** in Aerospace Standards and Regulations:
-Experience in aerospace structural engineering projects related to Domestic or
International Aerospace Standards and Regulations;
OR
-Experience in aerospace structural engineering projects making findings of
compliance to Domestic or International airworthiness design standards

*Significant: Candidate has performed complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations over a period of over 12 years.

**Candidate has 3 years or more of experience. This experience may be common with ES1.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

AE1: Technical Management: Experience of managing a team of aerospace structures specialists.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally as required.
Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required.
