Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, statistics or geography.
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience that is comparable to the minimum education stated above, may serve as an alternative. Whenever the minimum educational standard is met through an alternative, it is met only for the position being staffed, and a candidate must be re-assessed for future appointments and deployments if the manager has asked for this alternative.
Experience in undertaking research with respect to geographical place names and nomenclature, and terminologies related to cultural and physical geographical features.
Experience in liaising with clients on technical and policy coordination related to geomatics.
Recent* experience working with geospatial databases.
Experience providing advice and guidance on geomatics issues.
* Recent is defined as having acquired the experience within the last two (2) years.
Asset Qualifications:
Experience in project management.
Training or accreditation related to Geographic Information Systems
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC).
Knowledge of geospatial standards.
Knowledge of Indigenous toponymy in Canada.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
