Work environment

The RCMP requires experienced mechanics with proven ability to work with a range of vehicles according to stringent best-practice standards. The right candidates will work in a team to ensure all police vehicle fit-ups activities are carried out on time and at an exceptional standard.

The Post Garage is located at the tip of the Fraser Valley in beautiful Chilliwack, BC with a second location being considered in Langley, BC. You get the mild Vancouver weather and big city amenities a short drive away, without the expense of living downtown.

The work environment is in a garage setting and mostly performs equipment change overs from retired police vehicles to new ones. GL employees work a 40 hour work week, Monday through Friday with some flexibility to work variable start times or completing their hours of work over 8 or 9 days instead of 10 in a two week period. The RCMP recognizes the diversity of its workforce and is committed to providing a respectful workplace free of harassment, discrimination and other forms of disrespectful behaviour.

In addition to an excellent salary, the Federal government has a very good pension plan, dental plan, long term disability coverage and other many other benefits. https://www.canada.ca/en/government/publicservice/pay.html

The immediate need is to staff two permanent full time positions .
