You will be required to demonstrate the Essential Qualifications (i.e. Education and Experience) and Asset Qualifications (if applicable) for the initial screening in your cover letter. EDUCATION (ALL STREAMS)
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Nursing.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE (ALL STREAMS)
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAMS)
Recent* and Significant** experience in providing one (1) or more of the following:
1. Community Health (Public Health and Home and Community Care)
2. Primary Care
3. Urgent or Emergency or Acute Care

Recent* is defined as within the last five (5) years

Significant** is defined as at least two (2) years’ experience with performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.

Experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience in providing health care services to Indigenous people and/or Indigenous communities.

(STREAMS 4 & 5)
Experience in mentoring (preceptoring) adult learners.
Experience in curriculum development and teaching in nursing.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

(STREAMS 1, 2 & 3)
Graduate of a Council of Ontario university program in Nursing (COUPN) recognized Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program or a recognized equivalent.

(STREAMS 4 & 5)
Master’s degree in Nursing from a Canadian University or recognized equivalent.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE (ALL STREAMS)
Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner.

EXPERIENCE

(STREAM 2)
Experience in planning, development, implementation and the evaluation of health related projects/ programs.

(STREAMS 4 & 5)
Experience in providing presentations and/or preparing reports.

(STREAM 5)
Experience in providing program oversight for communicable disease control programs, which may include immunization/vaccine preventable diseases, tuberculosis, HIV/sexually transmitted and blood borne infections, infection prevention and control and/or pandemic preparedness.

A valid license to practice nursing in the province of Ontario with a CNO designation of Entitled to Practice.
