Intent of the process

The purpose of this selection process is to fill a term position in Dorval or in Quebec and could be used to fill similar positions of varying duration of the same occupational group and level at Transport Canada or other departments in Dorval and/or Quebec.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Diploma from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in environmental science, environmental studies, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology, environmental engineering or any other science field pertaining to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Significant* experience in analyzing and developing internal directives for environmental compliance with the environmental acts and regulations.
• Significant* experience in analyzing and interpreting environmental data presented in the framework of technical or scientific studies.
• Significant* experience as project manager in the conduct of environmental compliance audits and environmental site assessments (phase I, II and III).

*Minimum 2 years of pertinent experience obtained within the last 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of the different environmental protection acts, standards and regulations in Quebec and Canada.
• Knowledge of the federal contaminated sites management principles.
• Knowledge of the methods and steps required to carry out phase I, II and III studies.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in conducting environmental assessments for projects in accordance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA) and/or Quebec’s Environment Quality act.
• Experience in carrying out projects in collaboration with Aboriginal groups or Aboriginal organizations and/or experience in consulting with Aboriginal groups or Aboriginal organizations.
• Experience in managing contaminated sites, including budget control.
