Duties:
Under the supervision of the printing centre manager:
• Searches for and transfers electronic files from shared drives to digital printers. The digital printers are highspeed black and white, full colour, wide format printer (up to 42 inches).
• Scans camera ready pages /images into digital printers
• Customizes print jobs.
• Variable data processes through SmartPDF Printware
• Sets up and operates digital printers, reprographic systems and auxiliary equipment for binder tape, cover insertions, chapter starts, impositions, inserts and shifts.
• Ensures quality control of the work and compliance with clients' requirements.
• Performs finishing functions such as cerlox, spiral punching, adjustable spiral loading, paper drill, laminators, shrink wrap, paper banding machine, stitcher, stapler, programmable folder, folders, pressure stacker, programmable knife (up to 23 inches), programmable saddle stitcher, loading wide format, dry mounting, framing, scoring.
• Performs daily and weekly maintenance functions on equipment and places service calls of machine malfunctions for all printing and finishing equipment.
Intent of the process
The intent of this selection process is to create a pool of qualified candidates . This selection process may be used to staff other identical or similar positions within Statistics Canada with various language requirements and various security requirements. These positions may be staffed on an indeterminate or temporary basis/term, acting, assignment, or secondment basis.

Experience
Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in the operation of DocuSp series or DocuDT series (Document Printing System 61xx series
Experience in one of the following 3
Experience of Xerox Digipath and/or FreeFlow Document Makeready
Experience with production colour printer similar to the Ricoh 901s
Experience on finishing equipment with saddle stitcher, folder, cerlox / spiral, etc
Knowledge
K1. Knowledge of electronic duplicating systems
K2. Knowledge of components stated in printing requisitions
K3 .Knowledge of material utilized in printing environment
K4. Knowledge of bindery operations
