Intent of the process

There is presently one (1) position to fill in Montreal, Quebec. However, a pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar or identical positions of various durations (specified period, indeterminate, deployment, assignment, secondment and acting) in Transport Canada.

EDUCATION
• Successful completion of a recognized postsecondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, Category M1 and/or M2.

EXPERIENCE
• Three years of recent* experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, category M1 and/or M2, maintaining fixed wing aircraft.

*Recent is defined as acquired within the last four years.

• Maintenance type training and/or experience maintaining one or more of the following aircraft types:
- King Air Series
- Cessna Citation II
- Bell 407

OTHER EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
• Possession of a valid Canadian Passport.
• Available and willing to work shifts and overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends.
• Willing and able to perform work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands.
• Willing and able to travel for extended periods up to six (6) weeks at a time.
