This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.
The immediate need is to staff one permanent part time position.
A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours) for the Houston/Granisle Detachment.
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Recent* experience performing general clerical duties including but not limited to photocopying, file management, and telephone/reception inquiries.
Recent* experience in using word processing software such as Microsoft Word.

Recent* experience using PRIME (Police Records Information Management Environment).
Experience using police computer applications and programs such as CPIC, JUSTIN, and PIRS.
Experience in transcribing from audio or digital recordings.
Experience with local Aboriginal culture, society and economy.

Preference may be given to RCMP employees impacted/affected by work force adjustment.

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.
Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.
