Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

This position will report to Tsay Keh Dene Detachment, but is physically located in Mackenzie, BC.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours).

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience performing clerical duties (such as assisting or advising the general public, filing, processing mail, reception, etc.)
Experience in managing hard copy and electronic files. *"Managing" files involves opening files; sorting, tracking and updating information, data quality; and concluding files.
Experience using word processing and/or spreadsheet programs such as MS Word and Excel.
Recent* experience with purchasing and processing invoices
Recent* experience in managing financial accounts, such as tracking expenditures, paying invoices, and budget reporting.

“Recent” means experience obtained within approximately the last 2 years.

Any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be used for the screening of applications. Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.

Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.
