Duties

The microorganism culture such as Mycobacterium avium ssp paratuberculosis is arduous and knowledge of specialized techniques is required for this slow-growing bacterium. Genetic typing techniques require knowledge in molecular biology. The work requires a rigor and very good sense of the organization for working in laboratory of biosafety of level 2.

Work environment

The research center is located in Sherbrooke, specifically in the borough of Lennoxville. Most research is done on dairy cattle and pork. The tasks of the technician will be to work with pathogens in biosafety level 2 laboratory, to cultivate them and to perform molecular typing analyzes.

Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a recognised college program with specialisation in biotechnology

Degree equivalency

Experience in molecular biology

Experience in microbiology

Experience in mycobacterium culture

Experience in a Level 2 biosafety cabinet.
