Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
1. To enroll in and successfully complete university courses required for MSc program in Biology with specialization in bioinformatics at the University of Ottawa;
2. To prepare biological samples as required by the experiment;
3. To assess or develop software, tools and/or pipelines (or tool chains) to analyze large wheat genetics datasets;
4. To perform data analyses of large wheat data sets to validate biological hypotheses;
5. To summarize and interpret results in the format of scientific manuscript(s) to be published in recognized peer-reviewed journal(s);
6. To write reports of research and to present the research findings at workshops, field days and scientific meetings;
7. To write and defend an MSc thesis; wherein, the report of the research carried out during the MSc project is reported.
Work Environment: Office (computer), laboratory (equipment, chemicals & UV), field, greenhouses and growth cabinets. The student is expected (1) to analyze data using various computer software and through newly developed pipelines, (2) to grow and care for plants indoor and outdoor, (3) to sample plant tissues and harvest seeds and (4) to process these samples in the lab applying various methodologies.

Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a Master’s program in Biology at the University of Ottawa with specialization in: Bioinformatics.
Experience in analyzing data and in the preparation of tables and figures for the production of scientific manuscripts.
