Intent of the process

There is an immediate need to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Kingston, Ontario. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

EDU1 - A college degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in graphic design or multimedia development

Degree equivalency

Experience:

EX1: Extensive* experience in all stages of graphic design production.

EX2 Extensive* experience working with internal and external clients and stakeholders.

*Extensive experience for DD-04 positions is defined here as having performed a broad range of various and complex activities over a consecutive period of at least two (2) years.

*Extensive experience for DD-05 positions is defined here as having performed a broad range of various and complex activities over a consecutive period of at least five (5) years

EX3: Significant and recent** experience in developing material for print and online use with Adobe Creative Suite software

** Significant and recent experience is defined as a minimum of six (6) months of wide-ranging experience acquired within the last two (2) years.

Abilities:

A1: Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize workload
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally
A3: Ability to communicate effectively in writing
A4: Demonstrated ability*** to work through all stages of the graphic design process

*** As part of the assessment, the candidate must provide a portfolio of his/ her design work. The candidate will be asked to select several projects from this portfolio and discuss how these design projects evolved, and his/her role in them, from concept development to finished product.
