Intent of the process

A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment) in Edmonton or Calgary.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education and Certification:
- Graduation with a professional degree in architecture, from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Certification as a registered architect in Canada.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Significant experience in providing investigation and design services in architectural heritage conservation
- Significant experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams
- Significant experience in applying architectural heritage conservation standards and guidelines in the context of project reviews
*Significant is defined as substantial responsibility and involvement in various projects of varying sizes (large to small and complex to simple) and approximately 5 – 8 years experience.

Education:
- Recognized training in architectural heritage conservation.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Project management experience in the delivery of heritage building construction projects
- Involvement in organizations that promote heritage conservation

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of investigative and testing techniques related to heritage building condition assessment
- Knowledge of the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.
- Knowledge of the principles of general architectural and engineering practices relating to the design and construction of buildings.
- Knowledge of management in leading and organizing multidisciplinary conservation project teams
- Knowledge of historic construction methods, trends, materials and techniques and their performance in the Canadian context.
