Intent of the process

Our Immediate need is to staff a position for a one year term.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), English various security requirements (reliability, secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of a secondary diploma.

Degree equivalency

Experience to perform basic inspection and maintenance of various mechanical equipment and components.
Experience to repair and to install mechanical equipment and components.
Experience working with power tools.
Experience to respond directly to client service inquiries as requested through various methods.

English essential

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of methods of repair and adjustment of mechanical equipment and components.
Knowledge of building systems and general laboratory equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively orally .
Ability to perform running maintenance and minor repair tasks.
Ability to apply simple arithmetic as related to measuring material.

Effective Interpersonal Relationships
Initiative

The following may be applied / assessed at a later date (may be needed for the job)

Experience with computer software applications for preventative maintenance and building automation systems, as well as, document filing and email.

Willing and able to work in hot and cold conditions.
Additional assigned duties will include performing shipping and receiving tasks and operating lawn and garden equipment.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence.
Willingness and ability to work with corrosion inhibitors and anti-bacterial chemicals.
Willingness to work overtime including weekends occasionally.
