We’re looking for mechanical engineer technologist to join our Motor Vehicle Safety team! Verify and inspect vehicles being manufactured in and imported into Canada and help keep our roads safe. the person will be responsible of:
’Conduct of assessments and inspections of assigned classes of vehicles from Canadian importers and manufacturers, to verify compliance with the Motor Vehicle Safety regulatory framework. Performs the technical analysis of compliance test packages submitted by Canadian manufacturers and Canadian importing companies; exercises Ministerial delegation of authority under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA) and conducts on-site audits and investigations at vehicle manufacturing and importing facilities; provides subject matter technical information, guidance and advice to client organizations, federal and provincial regulatory and licensing authorities, and other stakeholders; and responds to queries from the general public.’’

Education:
A completion of a three-year mechanical engineering technology diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.

*Recognized post-secondary institution is defined as a public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience in at least two of the following areas with respect to motor vehicles or similar technologies:
• Inspection;
• Repairs,
• Design;
• Research and development
• Manufacturing;
• Quality assurance/quality control;
• Engineering testing

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET:Diploma from a three-year program at an Institute of Technology with specialization in mechanical, automotive or electronic technology

Degree equivalency
