Intent of the process

This is an ANTICIPATORY process.

A pool of qualified candidates will be created as a result of this process for indeterminate and/or full time term positions at Six Nations of the Grand River (Oshweken, ON).

The pool could be used to offer acting appointments under exceptional circumstances in order to protect employee's indeterminate status.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

Possession of an acceptable teaching certificate from a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE:

Recent* experience in the supervision of instructional staff as a Vice Principal or Teacher in charge.

*Recent experience is defined as experience within the last 5 years

Knowledge of educational theory and practices including change management related to curriculum reform.

Completion of the Ontario College of Teachers Principal Qualifications Part 1.

Completion of the Ontario College of Teachers Principal Qualifications Part 2

Master's degree from a recognized university.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with Indigenous people.

Experience in education administration related to school organization.

ABILITIES & SKILLS:

Ability to communicate orally in Cayuga in an immersion setting or as a second language

Ability to communicate in writing in Cayuga in an immersion setting as a second language.

Ability to communicate orally in Mohawk in an immersion setting or as a second language.

Ability communicate in writing in Mohawk in an immersion setting or as a second language.
