This position is located at 1200 Vanier Parkway, Ottawa, Ontario
The immediate need is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English essential and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.
Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience:
EXPERIENCE:
*Significant and recent experience in reviewing functional specifications and developing test cases based on these specifications.
*Significant experience in testing of enterprise multi-user PeopleSoft HR applications.
Experience in testing Government of Canada Business Processes, such as; PS Staffing, Compensation, etc.
*Significant experience in preparing effective test summary and status reports.
Definitions:
*“Significant” is defined as the breadth, depth, and complexity of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties for a period of at least two (2) years.
*“Recent” experience means within the last five (5) years.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience dealing with clients in support of Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) system(s) testing.
Experience in testing Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) national applications
Experience using the Rational Test Suite
Experience in setting up and maintaining a computer test lab
English essential
Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of defect tracking
Knowledge of types of Quality Control Software testing
Knowledge of automated testing software tools, such as; Rational Test Suite, Rational Performance Tester, etc.
