Have you ever wanted to work for the RCMP but not carry a gun? This advertised opportunity is for an entry level position as a Public Service Employee with the RCMP. Vacancies may be available in a variety of units, including, but not limited to: Accounting Operations, Records Management, Finance, Procurement, Intellex, Historical Homicide, Training and Development, or Human Resources.
The RCMP is recruiting for entry level CR-04 positions in Edmonton. As positions become available, qualified candidates may be contacted for appointment where a vacancy exists.

• Experience preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports.
• Experience providing financial support services (services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.)
• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Police Information Retrieval Systems (PIRS), Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS), Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System (ACIIS), National Criminal Data Bank (NCDB).
• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data.
• Experience transcribing statements from audio cassettes or digital media.
• Ability to type or keyboard.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).
Reliability Status security clearance - Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain one of the following RCMP security clearance levels*: RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret.
*The RCMP process requires a Security/Reliability Interview and a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

Assessments will comprise of a review of candidate applications, an online exam, interviews and references.
Objective Exercise for Personnel in Administrative Functions
The OEPAF is a competency evaluation tool used in staffing processes for administrative support positions. This skills test contains multiple choice questions. The scenarios are related to setting priorities, data entry and administrative document verification. This test will be used to evaluate the following merit criteria:
» Detail-oriented
» Being organised
» Action-oriented
The retest period for the OEPAF is 180 days. If you submit an application before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.
