Some of the key duties include:

•Devises strategies, guidelines and options for handling sensitive program and political issues presented to the Senior Executive (or equivalent) and provides briefing to the Senior Executive (or equivalent) on such strategies. (AS-06)
•Advises on the interpretation, application and impact of current or proposed government, departmental, and branch legislation, regulations, policies, strategies, and operational activities on service delivery, and provides advice to the Senior Executive (or equivalent) on the resolution of sensitive branch issues in order to improve organizational effectiveness. •Serves as a senior advisor within the Branch and provides advice and executive briefings to the Minister, Deputy Minister, Assistant Deputy Minister, Director(s) General and the Director on critical legislative and policy interpretation issues affecting compensation services and provides strategies for framing and responding to these issues. Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to staff various positions at various levels within the Pay Administration Branch of PSPC. Pools of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various linguistic profiles and various security requirements within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

AEX18- Experience in leading and engaging staff in a highly complex operational environment that includes shifting of priorities often on very short notice;

AEX19- Experience in managing, in an operational environment, using one or more of these systems (Phoenix, JIRA, MYGCHR, Peoplesoft) *note that for this experience, selection may be given to those that have used multiple systems;

AEX20- Experience in business planning and reporting to Treasury Board Secretariat;

AEX21- Experience in coordinating interdepartmental initiatives in the federal government;

AEX22- Experience in negotiating agreements (For example: Service level agreements, Memorandums of Understanding).

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Various security clearance levels: Reliability Status or Secret.
