The project will require the student to collect and process insect specimens in the field and the lab. The student will gather data from published and unpublished studies, digitizing records in historic collections.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba or the University of Winnipeg, in Biology, Zoology, or Environmental studies.
Experience or educational studies in entomology.
Experience or educational studies in vegetative assessments.
Experience or educational studies in agroecosystems.

Ability to perform aerial netting and glycol bee bowl sampling techniques
Ability to perform laboratory work including pinning and labeling of bees
The field assistant will be evaluated on their understanding of the skills and ability to acquire them.
Please note that experience could have been acquired through your studies, work experience or volunteer activities.
The field assistant will be working extensively outside handling live bees and must expect to be stung by bees throughout the duration of the project.
