Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
The successful candidate will participate in field work at the East Bay Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Nunavut. The candidate will be required to assist in all aspects of field work, including but not limited to: Monitoring wildlife (mostly focused on shorebirds and other birds), participating in bird capture and banding, participating in other research projects, moving gear and other camp chores, and cooking and cleaning.

This position will require the student to work in an extremely remote field camp setting in Polar Bear country.

EDUCATION
The applicant must be currently enrolled in Master of Science program at a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in either biology or some other science program relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
Significant experience** collecting wildlife data in the field
Significant experience** working in avian research sites.
Significant experience** working in remote arctic field camps.
Significant experience** safely working in areas with risk of polar bear interactions.
** Significant Experience refers to the experience normally obtained over 2 field seasons of a given activity.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The applicant must be willing to work in remote field camps, including but not limited to: hiking over long distances, handling wildlife, working in adverse weather conditions, working around Polar Bears, handling firearms, and flying in small aircraft.
