Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff one position immediately in the named Department, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) will be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level within Indigenous Services Canada and Health Canada with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), security requirements and conditions of employment.
A pool of partially or fully assessed candidates will be established on behalf of federal government organizations.
Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous Peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities.
The First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) supports the delivery of public health and health promotion services on-reserve and in Inuit communities. It also provides drug, dental and ancillary health services to First Nations and Inuit regardless of residence. The Branch also provides primary care services on-reserve in remote and isolated areas, where there are no provincial services readily available.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this advertised process which may be used to staff similar temporary and/or permanent positions across Canada.

Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nutrition, dietetics or home economics.
Occupational Certification
Registered Dietitian or eligibility for registration with a provincial/territorial College of Dietitians
Experience
- Experience in providing nutrition services and nutrition education to Indigenous People and/or Indigenous communities
- Experience in providing nutritional advice and support to health care workers as well as members of the public
- Experience in developing and managing projects/programs or initiatives in a health promotion-related field

Experience
- Experience in leading the development of education materials
- Experience working with remote and isolated communities
