Duties

There is a variety of different roles on this team. Work may include liaising with clients to assess their needs for web or print communications products, analyzing these needs, and advising on the appropriate publishing approach. You may also be involved in cataloguing and reporting publications, as well as supporting and coordinating the production of publications. This may include planning, contracting, producing, tracking, and distribution.

Health Canada is a federal government department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health.

The Creative Services team at Health Canada is a dynamic group of people who are passionate about promoting health, raising awareness about important health issues and helping Canadians ultimately make healthier and safer choices for themselves and their families.

We are located at Tunney’s Pasture near two of Ottawa’s trendiest neighbourhoods, Wellington Village and Westboro.

Intent of the process

This selection process will be used to establish pools of qualified candidates to fill a variety of current and future positions at the IS-04 group and level with various tenures and various language requirements.

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in a related field or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*

*Candidates who do not possess a relevant degree from a recognized post-secondary institution can meet the education requirement through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. In these cases, you must clearly indicate relevant education and training in your application by listing completed relevant courses and experience.

Degree equivalency

• Experience leading meetings with client to assess communication and marketing needs.
• Experience providing strategic advice related to printing, publishing and distribution of products to clients and/or management.
• Experience in planning and managing the production of web and print communications products.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

• Experience in using graphic Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft suite of products on a Mac platform.
