Work environment

This position is located at 1200 Vanier Parkway, Ottawa, Ontario

Common Services:
•Performs analysis, configuration, integration, maintenance and support of in-house and commercial off-the-shelf applications.
•Provides enterprise access and identity management services, which includes PKI, PMI and access control.
•Provides integrated managed and standardized enterprise computing and workplace technology device platforms.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff four (4) position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English essential and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or any other specialty relevant to the position being staffed. Or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
-Experience in installation, configuration, administration and support of client / server applications on Windows, Linux, Android or z/OS mainframe.
-Experience with operating systems including Windows, Linux, Android or z/OS mainframe.
-Experience in providing technical support to clients and colleagues.
-Experience participating in discussions with stakeholders to explain issues of a technical nature, recommending and resolving technical issues.
-Experience writing technical documentation for IT systems and services such as design and dataflow diagrams, procedures, use cases, user requirements, or detailed build documents

* Experience is defined as a minimum of 2 years work experience within the last 3 years.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - RCMP Top Secret security Clearance.
