Western Economic Diversification Canada is currently looking to hire a Financial Analyst for our Corporate Accounting and Policy team located in Edmonton.

As a member of a small, yet mighty team, you will get exposure to a variety of tasks in the corporate accounting world. You are a quick learning that is keen to take your classroom learning and applying it to the workplace. Your scrupulous attention to detail will allow you to identify coding errors prior to month end; reconcile and compile data from various sources; and assist in the preparation of departmental financial statements, Public Accounts and other reporting requirements.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Our ideal candidate will have completed a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in accounting OR is eligible for graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution by June 30, 2018 with a degree specializing in accounting.

You will have experience in each of the following areas: experience in financial management or accounting operations AND experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Although not essential, we want to know if you have the following assets:
• Eligibility for a professional accounting designation.
• Previous public sector experience.
• Experience in auditing and reviewing expenditures.
• Experience performing financial reconciliation
• Experience providing client support for accounting operations.
