OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- Possession of a valid Provincial or Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Repair Certificate or a valid Truck and Transport Repair Certificate or an accepted equivalent as required for the position in the respective province of employment.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in Automotive or a Heavy Equipment repair field at the journeyman proficiency level.
- Experience working in first and/or second and/or third level maintenance that includes but not limited to: Inspection, diagnosis, repair, replaces, rebuilt, disassembles, calibrates, adjusts, modifies and re-assembles any parts, components and sub component of the equipment / vehicle.
EDUCATION:
Secondary School Diploma.
CERTIFICATION:
- Certification in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
- Certification in First Aid.
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in quality control / out inspection.
- Experience using Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) such as Defence Resource Management Information System (DRIMS).
- Experience in small engine repair (such as outboard motor, ATV, snowmobile, side-by-side, generators, chainsaw and other 2/4 stroke small engine operated tool and equipment).
- Experience working on marine equipment (inboard/outboard motor).
- Experience working on automotive air conditioning systems.
- Experience working on bus/highway cruiser.
- Experience working on materials handling equipment.
- Experience working on special purpose equipment (example: fire and line trucks).
- Experience as an Automotive Service Technician (AST).

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of maintenance procedures on any of the following:
- SMP (Standard Military Pattern) vehicles
- LAV (Light Armored Vehicles) tracked and wheeled
- Militarized Heavy Equipment (e.g. Dozer, Grader, Cranes, Excavator, dump trucks, front end loader, semi-trailer, low bed trailer and dolly trailer, etc.)
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates may be asked to work overtime, weeknights & weekends from time to time.

Reliability Status security clearance
- Some positions may require Secret Security Clearance.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence issued by the province of New Brunswick or equivalent from another province.
- Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 Driver/Operator Permit.
- Must be willing and able to wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be willing and able to climb, stand, walk, lift, bend, pull and/or push, grasp, reach, stoop, sit and crouch for extended periods of time.
- Must willing and able to lift items in excess of 15.9 kg (50lbs).
