- Please note that to be eligible for the FIN Program, applicants must be successfully screened for employment readiness by a partnering Immigrant Serving Organization (ISO) no later than April 13, 2018. - When you apply, you must have been a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen for 10 years or less counting from the day you became a permanent resident to the day you apply.
- For candidates with education earned outside Canada, assessment of foreign credentials is not a mandatory requirement for participation in the FIN Program but it is highly recommended.

Education:
ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics
NOTE: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
EX1. Experience* in preparing written documents such as reports and/or briefing materials
EX2. Experience* in researching, analyzing and synthesizing information
EX3. Experience* in working with clients, colleagues, stakeholders or partners
EX4. Experience* in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint or equivalent software
*Note: The above mentioned experience can be demonstrated through employment (student or otherwise) or academic activity.
Asset Education:
AED1. Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following areas: Sociology, Statistics, Economics, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Law or other applicable disciplines.
Asset Experience:
AEX1. Experience in using quantitative or qualitative research methods
AEX2. Experience in providing briefings, presentations, and/or recommendations to management
AEX3. Experience in working on immigration, labour market, healthcare policy or social policy issues
AEX4. Experience in performance measurement and/or evaluation
AEX5. Experience in analyzing social, demographic, economic, business, financial or environmental data
AEX6. Experience in collecting, organizing, extracting, manipulating, maintaining, reviewing and/or updating data in a structured dataset, database or spreadsheet using software such as, but not limited to, Excel, Access, HRML, XML, Blaise, CAPSS, Beyond 20/20, FAME
AEX7. Experience in using statistical software, such as SAS, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), STATA, or other similar analytical software packages
AEX8. Experience using “Big Data” analysis techniques (e.g. distributed computing, data mining, data visualization)
AEX9. Experience in Desktop publishing or producing graphics (e.g. charts, graphs, maps, figures)
AEX10. Experience in using geographic information systems (GIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo)

- You cannot submit your resume with your application. You will be asked to submit your resume at the assessment stage.
- A written exam may be administered in some cases.
- Interviews and tests will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice during June, July and August. If you do not attend assessments at the scheduled date and time, your application might be rejected. Candidates will be given at least 48 hours’ notice of interview and must be available.
- Tests may be administered during the day and evening.
- When answering the pre-screening questions, you must provide specific examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualifications (education and experience, essential and asset). During the initial screening process, the Screening Board will be reviewing the applications to assess if the required qualifications have been demonstrated by candidates. Invitations to interviews will be based on the screening results.
- References could be sought by employer for candidates who are successful in the process.
- Receipt of applications will not be sent; only candidates successful in the screening process will be contacted.
- You may have to provide proof of your educational credentials.
- You will be asked to provide your proof of permanent residency or Citizenship.
- Please note that travel or relocation expenses will NOT be reimbursed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or any other hiring departments/organizations.
- The Immigrant Serving Organization indicated in your application will be contacted to verify that you were screened.
- If successful, your application may be shared within IRCC and may be shared with other hiring Federal Government departments, agencies and crown corporations, and other participating provincial and municipal sector organizations for potential employment opportunities.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the pre-screening stage to determine the number of applicants who will advance to the following stage of the selection process.
- This selection process will be used by various departments, agencies and organizations.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order.
