Intent of the process

The current need is to fill four (4) positions on term and indeterminate basis. A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Health Canada with various linguistic profiles (English Essential, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, BBC/BBC). The requirements as well as tenures (Indeterminate,specified period full time /and or part time ) may vary according to the position being staffed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Nursing, Nursing Service Administration, Nursing Education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Current registration as a registered nurse in the province or territory of employment and a member in good standing in that province. Willingness and eligibility to become registered, at the time of appointment, in the province where the position is located.

Experience:
Recent* and significant** experience in the provision of occupational health nursing services including health assessments and immunization/screening tests.

* Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last twelve (12) months.
** Significant experience means experience obtained by the candidate representative of the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

• To hold a certificate in occupational health and safety at work

• Knowledge of communicable diseases of occupational health significance.

• Ability to implement and deliver health
education programs on various occupational health topics.

13.Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
