Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process to create a pool of candidates to be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region and the Greater Toronto Area on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member of the RCMP (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized school of medicine.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for a licence to practice medicine in a province or territory of Canada.

Experience:
EX1: Extensive* experience as a medical practitioner.
EX2: Experience in the area of occupational health (including disability case management) and preventative medicine.
EX3: Experience in providing personal consultation to clients regarding their health needs.

*Extensive experience is defined as the depth and breadth of professional experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of at least five (5) years.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of the methods, techniques and practice of occupational health (including disability case management) and health assessments.
K2: Knowledge of characteristics and treatments of the conditions most relevant to the RCMP population: e.g.: musculo-skeletal problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, organizational stress; infection control; etc.
K3: Knowledge of physical fitness and occupational health and safety issues, programs and techniques.

Ability:
A1: Ability to conduct and review comprehensive clinical assessments and examinations.
A2: Ability to assess information on health issues, extract pertinent details and make presentations to managers and personnel.
A3: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A4: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
