Work environment

Most positions will be located in Gatineau, QC. Virtual work reporting from another ESDC office in Canada may be possible upon management approval.

IITB's Hub locations outside of the NCR are located in: St-John's, Dartmouth, Charlottetown, Bathurst, Fredericton, Miramichi, Moncton, Boucherville, Jonquière, Laval, Montréal, Shawinigan, Belleville, Chatham, Cornwall, London, Toronto, Mississauga, Windsor, Vaughan, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes:
1.Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2.It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3.At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in developing conceptual, logical and physical data models.
2. Experience establishing standards and best practices in at least one of the following areas: data modeling, data management, data architecture, data warehousing or data analytics.
3. Experience in providing recommendations to senior management (manager and above) in one or more of the following areas: data modelling, data management, data architecture, data warehousing, or data analytics.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in developing and implementing complex data models in one or more of the following areas: operational applications (transactional processing); Data Warehouse and Data Mart applications (analytical processing).
2. Experience in conducting requirement gathering sessions, documenting data requirements and providing impact analyses for database solutions.
3. Experience in developing technical specifications for data extract, transformation and load (ETL) routines as required to support requirements.
4. Experience in the design, development, implementation and support of solutions using Oracle’s PL/SQL language.
5. Experience in performing analysis, troubleshooting and offering solutions to extract, transformation and load (ETL) processing errors and data inconsistencies.
6. Experience in data profiling.
7. Experience performance tuning SQL data load scripts.
