Duties

• Plans and conducts the CGC’s audits of licensees (complexity of the licensee can range from a very small operation to a multinational conglomerate either domestic or foreign organizations).
• Prepares audit reports and final audit letters to licensees.
• Reviews current and prospective licensees’ financial statements.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff one indeterminate position.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used for similar indeterminate, specified period employment, acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting and auditing, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

Experience:
● Recent* and significant** experience in the planning, execution and reporting of audits.
● Experience in performing financial reviews.
● Recent* and significant** experience in using word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
** Significant is defined as 2 or more years in duration.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting and auditing.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in performing financial reviews /audits of grain company operations.

● Knowledge of the theory and application of audit techniques, including the analysis and evaluation of internal controls.

● Knowledge of the Canadian Grain Commission and its services.

● Ability to perform field audits and report on the results.

● Adherence to CGC safety standards and procedures.
