The immediate need is to staff one term position in Ottawa, Ontario until March 31, 2019 (with the possibility of extension). A qualified pool may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (temporary or indeterminate), and conditions of employment within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience in the operation and calibration of specialized instrumentation for measuring the number and size distribution of ultrafine particles.
Experience in the reporting and presentation of scientific data.
Experience in the analysis and interpretation of ultrafine particulate measurements including Black carbon from vehicles or engines.
Experience in testing vehicles in a laboratory.
Experience in collecting air emissions samples.
English essential
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the instrumentation used for the measurement of ultrafine particulates and black carbon.
Knowledge of the combustion process for internal combustion engines
Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control for measurement studies
Ability to plan, organize and manage test projects.
Ability to prepare reports and present results from measurement studies.
Ability to operate and calibrate ultrafine particulate and black carbon instrumentation during field studies.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
