Eligibility for acceptable registration or proof of license to practice as a professional occupational therapist in a province or territory of Canada. (Note: Proof of registration in the province of practice must be met upon appointment but not necessarily at the point of application).

Graduation with a degree from a recognized school of occupational therapy

Degree equivalency

Eligibility for acceptable registration or proof of license to practice as a professional occupational therapist in a province or territory of Canada. (Note: Proof of registration in the province of practice must be met upon appointment but not necessarily at the point of application).

Registration with a General Practicing Certificate from the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

Knowledge of occupational therapy interventions and programs used in the treatment of neurological, mental or physical conditions

Ability to plan, organize, supervise and evaluate an occupational therapy service

Ability to communicate effectively orally

Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team

Experience providing occupational therapy services to clients with psychiatric/mental health disorders

Experience providing occupational therapy services to clients with cognitive deficits, which may include brain injury, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

Experience providing occupational therapy services to behaviourally challenged clients

Experience in providing Occupational Therapy services to clients with physical/medical health needs and providing assistive devices or equipment as needed.
