Then below each experience qualification for which you have indicated Yes, you must provide clear and concrete EXAMPLES and DETAILS of how you meet them. It is recommended that you describe the examples in specific terms, providing sufficient details so that the Assessment Board can clearly understand the circumstances. A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be created to staff similar positions within Health Canada and may be used as well by other Public Service Departments at this group and level with various linguistic requirements, various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures as mentioned above. You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Note
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
E1 Experience critically evaluating and synthesizing complex scientific literature on public health related topics
E2 Experience writing scientific or technical reports
E3 Experience developing and maintaining collaborative relationships on behalf of an organization with a diverse group of stakeholders
Note:
“Experience” means the performance of the above duties for a period of approximately 2 years.
Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization relevant to the duties of the position such as public health, epidemiology or nutrition
Or
Graduation with a Master’s degree with a thesis from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Or
Graduation with a PhD from a recognized university in a specialization relevant to the duties of the position such as public health, nutrition or epidemiology.
Experience:
AE1 Experience undertaking complex data analysis in economic, social or policy areas, using statistical techniques and tools, such as SAS
AE2 Experience leading and disseminating systematic reviews
AE3 Experience working with national nutrition survey data.

K1 Knowledge of current public health nutrition issues in Canada.

K3 Knowledge of the vision, mandate, nutrition policies and strategic direction of Health Canada.

A3: Ability to undertake a critical evaluation and synthesis of complex scientific literature and, based on this evaluation, to provide advice and recommendations to inform the development of public health policies, regulations or programs
