Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada with various tenures. The pool can be used to staff positions with various linguistic profiles and security requirements. This pool can be used to staff position in the National Capital Region. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

1) Experience in drafting written material, such as but not limited to PowerPoint presentations, research reports, briefing notes, e-mail on behalf of a manager and summaries of discussion.
2) Experience in researching, compiling and analyzing information from various sources.

Experience:

1) Experience participating in the development of Cabinet documents (Memoranda to Cabinet, Presentations to Cabinet, Aide-Mémoires or Treasury Board Submissions).
2) Experience in researching or conducting policy reviews in one of the following areas: economic, investment, financial, or socio-economic issues.
3) Experience in coordinating meetings involving senior officials and/or external stakeholders.
4) Experience in preparing briefing notes, presentations, and/or correspondence for senior officials.
5) Experience in performance measurement.
