In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of secondary school or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Possession of a provincial Journeyman Certificate in a construction trade (carpenter, electrician, plumber or other acceptable) or technical education as it relates to the construction field.

Degree equivalency

Experience in direct management of subcontractors and/or trades carrying out construction projects.

Experience in managing multiple construction projects in geographically dispersed locations.

Experience in the use and operation of personal computers and software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and Microsoft Project.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Successful completion of a course in Project Management.

Graduation from a recognised technical school in a construction related field.

Degree equivalency

Experience in working with offenders.

Experience creating construction project schedules.

Experience estimating large multi trade projects.

Experience managing large construction projects.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of the mission and values of the Correctional Service of Canada and of CORCAN.

Knowledge of Building codes and regulations. (Federal)

Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code.

Knowledge of tendering and contracting procedures.

Ability to develop, plan and implement projects.

Ability to produce estimates and schedules for construction projects.

Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Ability to supervise and train staff and offenders.
