Intent of the process

Currently we have one part-time term vacancy at the NU-CHN-03 group and level. A qualified pool of candidates may be established to staff this and other similar positions at the NU-CHN-03 group and level for term, indeterminate or acting at full or part-time hours, inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM).

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a PS be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE:
Recent* nursing experience.

Experience using computer programs such as Word, e-mail and Internet.

*Recent experience is defined as experience normally gained within the last two years.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness to travel occasionally, including to remote locations via small aircraft.
Willingness to work Overtime when required.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status.

Valid Driver’s License.
