The Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott is the largest public service military industrial complex in Canada. This facility’s primary purpose is to provide in-house expertise in ship repair services which are required to maintain the east coast naval vessels and their marine and combat systems.
The intent of this process is to staff term, acting, and casual positions.

EDUCATION:
Candidates must have a minimum of one of the following certifications:
Inter-provincial Industrial Electrical Red Seal
OR
Military equivalency QL5 ETECH with Applications and Consolidation (Candidates with this equivalency will meet initial screening but will be required to Attain and prove Interprovincial Red Seal Certification in Industrial Electrical before an offer of employment will be made)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience* working as an Industrial /Marine Electrician
OR
Experience* working as an Military QL5 ETECH
*For this selection process, experience is defined as 5 years within the last 7 years working not as a supervisor in the trade but in the position itself.
ABILITIES:

EXPERIENCE:
Marine experience in maintenance, repair and set to work of Electrical systems and equipment as it pertains to Naval Electrical/Mechanical Systems.
Fibre / Cat5 experience
Motor winding, overhaul / control experience
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requirement to work for prolonged periods in adverse weather and/or climate conditions
Requirement to work at sea
Requirement to work on ships and submarines
Requirement to work in dirty and/or noisy environments
Requirement to work in confined spaces, to climb and to work at heights
Requirement to perform shift work or overtime (Evenings, Weekends, Holidays)
Requirement to wear all appropriate (PPE) protective equipment (fit-tested)
Requirement to travel (Obtain and retain a Canadian Passport)
Requirement to produce objective quality evidence IAW ISO 9001
Requirement to lift, carry and move heavy awkward shaped materials and equipment
Requirement to attend training both locally and away from home
Requirement to maintain computer access, maintain usernames/passwords
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Enhanced security clearance required on initial appointment, with the ability to upgrade to Secret
Any testing will be done in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
