Duties

- Establishes, fosters and maintains working relationships and negotiates partnerships, agreements and contracts with the Nunavut co-management partners, researchers and contractors concerning research programs.
- Coordinates and organizes logistic support for field projects including the allocation of resources from an assigned budget.
- Coordinates and organizes logistic support for meetings with co-management partners and northern stakeholders.
- Analyzes, compiles and summarizes data for inclusion in technical, manuscript, and/or data reports; project correspondence for internal and external interest groups; and progress reports for use by the Aquatic Science Biologist.

Intent of the process

The anticipated number of positions that may be staffed with this advertised process is one (1); however, a pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term and/or permanent positions at Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and other Departments and Agencies who have positions in Nunavut. Linguistic profile requirements as well as tenures and/or security clearance may vary according to the position being staffed.

b) travel by a variety of modes: vehicle, vessel or aircraft.
c) work aboard various platforms including helicopters, small planes, and boats of various sizes.

f) work in the field in remote areas for up to 6 weeks continuous per year and travel for up to 12 weeks per year as required.
