You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Registration as a Registered Nurse OR a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in a province or territory of Canada. (In order to be appointed, candidates must be registered in the province or territory where the position is being staffed.)
Experience working in a health care environment, including Clinical fieldwork placements*, such as a medical and/or surgical and/or emergency and/or a psychiatric setting.
* Clinical fieldwork placement is defined as a guided clinical practice in selected nursing settings to facilitate the application of theoretical concepts and skill development.
Relevant Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification(s) in nursing (e.g., Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, Community Health, Critical Care, Medical-Surgical Health, etc.).
Certification in Infection Prevention and Control accredited by the Certification Board of Infection Control & Epidemiology.

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Bachelors or Masters degree in nursing or in another area relevant to the position.
